The One Word Secret That Makes The Rich So Rich

Posted by James Delrojo on July 17, 2010 in Internet Business with No Comments

I’m sure that anyone reading this article already knows that the rich don’t get rich by accident. But no matter how motivated or educated a person is, he or she still only has 24 hours in a day, so how do they use those hours to get so much richer than the average person? They apply a one word secret that will work just as well for you if you use it.

That one word is leverage.

A lever is a device that multiplies the effort applied. Archimedes once stated ‘If I had a lever long enough I could move the world.” The concept is the same for wealth creation; if you apply enough leverage then you can achieve any level of wealth that you imagine.

That immediately raises two questions. Firstly, how do you leverage? Secondly, what do you leverage? In order to determine the how we first need to know the what, so let’s start there.

There are 20 key success principles that need to be leveraged in order to maximize your success within the minimum possible time, but in the space of this article I’ve chosen to discuss only leveraging time.

Time is the most valuable resource that we have, we each have exactly the same amount each day (24 hours) and once it is gone it is gone for good and can never be brought back, therefore the concept of saving time doesn’t make sense. (If you save something it is there for future use.) The self made rich don’t think in terms of saving time the think in terms of leveraging time. In other words they are constantly looking for better answers to the question; how can I get better productivity in each 24 hour period? This is the essential question that you need to answer in order to discover how to best leverage your own time.

This article that you are reading now is a perfect example of leveraging time. It requires only a small amount of time for me to write yet, because it is published on the net, thousands of people will read the article. Many of those will take advantage of the free offer in my resources box and get the free ebook. If I were to teach what is in that ebook to each person individually then it would require years of my time, yet I achieve the same teaching in the short time it takes to write the article. The article is a time lever, the internet is a time lever, and the ebook is a time lever.

If I decided to work an 8 hour day writing articles and publishing them on the internet I would be helping educate many thousands of people for free and in return this would lead to many sales of my other programs. In that way leveraging time leads to much more profit than would be possible from a one to one use of the same 8 hours.

This form of leverage is called distribution leverage and is used by musicians via CD’s, actors via movies and television, authors via books, public speakers via seminars and teleseminars, and so on.

Another form of time leveraging is delegation. The principle here is that you are recruiting other people’s time to increase your desired results. This could be via employees, outsourcing or volunteers.

Now what about you? How many different ways can you think of to leverage your time in order to increase your personal profit?

If you learn to leverage your time and combine that with leveraging the 20 key success principles then riches will flow to you, but those are techniques I teach elsewhere. For now, make the effort to think of ways of profitably leveraging your time and then put those ways into action.

Who Needs Calcium Supplements and Why?

Posted by Robert E on July 16, 2010 in Natural Health & Wellness with No Comments

The straight forward answer to this question is people of all ages
require calcium supplements to keep their bones strong and avoid any
kind of bone disease.
The amount of calcium required by the body depends on the age of the
person.

Listed below is a dietary reference guide published by National Academy
of Sciences Institute of Medicine.
0 – 6 months
210 milligrams/day
6 – 12 months
270 milligrams/day
1 – 3 years
500 milligrams/day
4 – 8 years
800 milligrams/day
9 – 18 years
1,300 milligrams/day
Adults 19 – 50 years
1,000 milligrams/day
Adults 51+ years
1,200 milligrams/day

Calcium is present in all diary products (milk, cheese, yogurt, cottage
cheese etc) ,leafy vegetables, eggs and meat. The calcium which the
body gets through daily intake of food is not sufficient to meet the
daily requirements of the body. When we do not take enough calcium our
bodies use up the calcium present in the bones hence making the body
bones week and open to all kinds of bone diseases.
So it is required we take a calcium supplement designed to meet our
calcium requirements according to the dosage mentioned.

What calcium does to our Body?

Calcium helps to build up our skeletal structure. it also has a role to
play in nerve function, blood clotting and muscle health. increased
calcium intake and reduced levels of pre-menstrual symptoms and also
helps in maintaining blood pressure.

What are the different kinds of calcium supplements available?

Seaweed Calcium from the Sea seaweed calcium supplement product combines all necessary
co-nutrients that are vital to calciums metabolism into the bone. The
foundational minerals are from coral reefs located in pristine waters
off the coast of Okinawa, Japan and consciously harvested in an
eco-friendly manner. Harvesting is done by a company who is an active
member of the World Wildlife Federation and in waters only that have
been pre-approved by the Okinawa Prefectural Government. Calcium from
the Sea has health generating potential far beyond traditional calcium
supplements. It is ideal for men of all ages and pre-menopausal women

NanoCalcium – NanoCalcium Supplement is a very unique product. It is one of those products that come along once every few years that has amazing healing potential. It has been tested in Japan for over 10 years and has only recently been made available in the United States. It works on the same principle as
Seaweeds calcium supplements, namely alkalinizing the blood system, but
is considerably stronger.

What are the problems caused due to calcium deficiency?

1, Calcium deficiency weakens bones and makes them more prone to
fractures.
2, cause extreme nerve sensitivity, muscle spasms, and leg cramps
3, Improper functioning of the heart.
4, slows down blood clotting system hence wounds take longer time to
heal.
5, weakens teeth so gum disease occur frequently.
6, High blood pressure may occur

Conclusion:

Calcium is the most abundant mineral in the body. A constant supply of
calcium is necessary throughout our lifetime. It is necessary
that every one irrespective of their age should take calcium
supplements in right dosage. Over dosge of calcium is harmful to the
body. To lead a healty long life take calcium supplements in the right
dosge.

Getting Help For A Family Member Who Struggles With Fear And Anxiety

Posted by Stan Popovich - on July 15, 2010 in Natural Health & Wellness with No Comments

It is not easy to watch a family member or relative struggle with fear and anxiety. The first step is that you should get him or her to talk to a professional who can get them started in the right path of getting better. Getting professional help for their fears and anxiety is very important. In addition, here are some techniques a person can use to help manage their fears and anxieties.

Learn to take it one day at a time. Instead of worrying about how you will get through the rest of the week or coming month, try to focus on today. Each day can provide us with different opportunities to learn new things and that includes learning how to deal with your problems. Focus on the present and stop trying to predict what may happen next week. Next week will take care of itself.

A good way to manage your fear is to challenge your negative thinking with positive statements and realistic thinking. When encountering thoughts that make your fearful or anxious, challenge those thoughts by asking yourself questions that will maintain objectivity and common sense.

Sometimes, we may be nervous doing a certain task that may be scary. When this happens, visualize yourself doing the task in your mind. For instance, you and your team have to play in the championship hockey game in front of a large group of people in the next few days. Before the big day comes, imagine yourself playing the game in your mind. Imagine that your playing in front of a large audience. By playing the game in your mind, you will be better prepared to perform for real when the time comes. Self Visualization is a great way to reduce the fear and stress of a coming situation.

Remember that there is one power that is stronger than your fears and that is the power of God. A person does not have to be religious to use the power of God. When the going gets tough, talk to God about your problems as if you were talking to a friend. Review the Bible and pray hard. Be persistent and be open in the avenues that God may provide to you in solving your problem. It is not always easy, however God is in control and he will help you if you ask him.

As a Layman, I realize it is not easy to deal with all of our fears, however there are all kinds of help available. The key is to be patient and not to give up. In time, you will be able to find those resources that will help you with your problems.

Make Money Online | Search Engine Optimization | Traffic

Posted by Alan Lim on July 15, 2010 in Internet Business with No Comments

Is it still possible to make money online with Google Adsense? After all, there was a report circulating this past fall that said Adsense was dead.

Adsense took a beating a short time ago when Google made some changes. But it is still possible to make money online with a Web site or two. It is even possible to make a good living with it.

What You Need

You need a domain name, a hosting account, and a niche topic. Preferably the niche is one that you know something about. That makes it easier to fill it with content.

If you want to make money online with one or two Web sites then good content is a must. Your goal is to create a site that attracts people and keeps them coming back.

There are sites on the Internet, created by people just like you that are getting thousands of visitors a day. The content is written by the site owner who cares about the subject. They are passionate about the topic and write from their heart.

These sites have grown in popularity simply by word-of-mouth and maybe some simple search engine optimization tactics. Good content will get noticed, although optimizing for the search engines helps.

Getting Traffic to Your New Site

Before your site can become popular through word-of-mouth you need to get the first visitors to your site. How do you let people know about your site?

Free tactics include posting in forums or blogs and putting your URL in the signature, posting on Answers.Yahoo.com and again putting your URL in the signature, and writing articles and submitting them to article directories. These are all free, and they work very well.

Here’s a hint: Write an article each week for each site. Do that consistently and you can’t help but get traffic. It’s a great way to get backlinks, too, which is very important in getting ranked high in the search engines.

For further education (and for examples) visit StevePavlina.com and JackHumphrey.com/fridaytrafficreport. These are two sites that get thousands of visitors a day. They are using the blogging software put out by WordPress, which is free.

Blogs are a simple way to build a Web site. Anyone can start one, and then tweak it as they become more experienced. Jack’s site didn’t start out looking that cool. He’s done some major changes to it in the last year.

Steve’s site looks very plain, but that doesn’t bother the millions of people who regularly visit his site. They are coming for the content.

That simple-looking site is earning Steve several thousand dollars a day in Adsense, affiliate products and donations. Yes, people actually donate to sites that offer them good content for free. Steve uses a WordPress plug in for collecting donations from visitors who want to give him money as a way of saying “thank you.”

A free forum that can provide a great education on the topic of Internet marketing for any newbie is available at Forum.DigitalPoint.com. Be prepared to spend hours there searching through all the posts that give good tips on how to make money online. You can also sign up for free and post questions.

The basics of how to make money online have been described here, along with some examples to study and a forum to learn from. Now it is up to you to get started.

Whatever you do, don’t put it off. You can’t make money online by just reading about it. You have to take action.

Internet Web Site Advertising – Legendary

Posted by Mario Machado on July 14, 2010 in Sustainable Business with No Comments

Internet web site advertising seems to be the Topic of the day. And I thought that instead of ignoring that fact with senseless personal anecdote, Id give in to greater office pressure and write about it. Im nervous, but here we go. Oh, wait, before I get into that I want to tell you why. The why part is because normally Im a little cynical. When I am supposed to research some topic and I do, I usually fill with a little bit of disgust. I dont think that thats out of line, considering to the things I read.

But, today as Im reading about web site advertising I had that familiar tinge of bile backing up in my throat and I was thinking about how I could articulate my inevitable irritation that would inevitably turn into full blown madness. And then, of all things, this author started making sense. Even though hes talking about web site advertising and I typically have sorts of rage (legitimate or notprobably not) about that particular subject, I started getting down with what this persons saying. So, without further delay, I will quickly tell you what I think about all this internet web site advertising deal.

But, Ill do it with an anecdote. But, this time its relevant. We were making a web site for a company I was working with. We had very little money and the primary financial backer of the project wasnt too interested in internet advertising. Finally, he was convinced to get a web site made for us, but on a shoestring budget. It was fine, but quite low budget and the designer we got did just that, design. The little work that was put into traffic generation reaped an equal amount of responsea little. Well, that business has just been sold to a company that has been known to focus intently on the other aspects of internet web site advertising. They have gone to great lengths with their previous businesses to develop their site to meet their customers needs, utilize various links to bring customers to their site, etc. etc. I look forward to seeing the remarkable progress that the company will make with their new vision of utilizing internet technology. I wish them the best, but probably that wont be necessary.

How To Simplify Your Living Expenses

Posted by A. Annika Smith on July 14, 2010 in Family Finances with No Comments

Here’s the thing: I’m a New Yorker. And in New York, it is amazingly difficult NOT to spend a lot of money, just on the basics! As a student of Harv Eker, I am trying to limit my expenses to 50% of my after-tax income, and I have to tell you, that is really hard to do. Harv isn’t the only one to suggest this either: almost every money-management guru gives the same advice. Simplify your expenses.

The fact is, if you want to become financially free, you must do two things: increase your passive income and decrease your expenses. Once your passive income is equal to or greater than your expenses, you are financially free. The concept is simple enough — and in other articles I address creating passive income (the easiest and fastest way to do this would be by renting your rooms). But how do you simplify your expenses? Especially when you look around and you don’t see a way HOW? Here are a variety of ways you can still live a decent life and be a bit more frugal at the same time.

Food & Toiletries

  • By far, making lunch at home was one of my biggest savings! I made lunch and snacks and bought them to work.
  • Instead of buying shower gel, go back to soap bars. They last longer and are much cheaper.
  • Don’t wash your hair every day, and when you do wash your hair, only wash it once. That saves lots of shampoo.
  • I made my own coffee at home — or cut it out altogether and put that money aside in your financial freedom jar. One guru calls that the “latte factor.”
  • As a nation, we eat out a whole lot more and buy convenience foods to just heat in the microwave — but these can be expensive. Cooking may take time, but it does save you lots of money.
  • Buy generic! I was so opposed to this, and one day I ate some potato chips that my boyfriend bought. Seriously? They didn’t taste different from the name brand. Try it. Ok, some things may be non-negotiable, but you’d be surprised what is. Your grocery bill will go way down.
  • Take the effort to cut coupons, take advantage of sales, and go to discount warehouses, like Sam’s Club or Costco.

Heat & Electricity

  • If you don’t already have one, get an electric thermostat with a timer, so you can change the temperature automatically during specific times of the day. Lower the temperature when the family is out of the house.
  • Use space heaters and lower the heat in the rooms you use. Use an electric blanket at night.
  • There is plastic covering you can get at the hardware store and cover your windows. That keeps the heat in the house.
  • Make sure your boiler and hot water heater are maintained properly.
  • Wear layers of clothing and keep the heat lower.
  • Use kitchen and bathroom vents sparingly in the winter
  • Replace regular light bulbs with compact fluorescents
  • Wash laundry in cold or warm instead of hot
  • Use a clothesline instead of using the dryer
  • Use a ceiling fan instead of an air conditioner.

Cell Phones, Internet, and Communication Utilities

  • Avoid pre-paid cell phones, even if you just want the phone for emergencies, unless you are careful to use a plan with minutes that don’t expire. You pay exorbitant rates per minute.
  • Never underestimate the minutes your teen may use. Be careful not to get the lowest plan. Constant overages are very expensive overall.
  • You don’t necessarily need a home phone if you have a cell phone. With free nights, weekends and long distance, you may save considerably. Be careful with phone plans that have low rates, because the taxes add significantly to the bill.
  • For your Internet connection, you don’t have to get the highest rate of connection speed. For the average user, you won’t be able to tell the difference and that can save you $20 a month.
  • If you switch to broadband, don’t keep your dialup (unless you travel often outside the country or in rural areas). Also, drop paying for AOL. All AOL features are free if you have broadband.

Entertainment

If you really wanted to be extreme about it, you could cut entertainment out altogether. But that’s not really practical, so here are some ideas.

  • First, if you think FREE, you may not get free, but you do end up with “cheap.” Cheap doesn’t mean less fun, either. Sometimes you can have MORE fun.
  • If you live in a city, just try walking around. In New York, I have found impromptu concerts by street musicians or just sat in the park and people watched. You’d be amazed how much fun you can have!
  • Instead of eating out or going to bars with friends, host a potluck at home or just have friends over for drinks. It’s much cheaper to buy liquor than to buy drinks at the bar.
  • For movies, go to matinees or the $2 movie (some communities have them). Yes, those movies are second-run, but hey, it’s worth financial freedom to me. You can also always rent movies.
  • Cable. When times are tough, the cable needs to get going. It can get so expensive! If you do need it for the reception, get basic and then rent movies. Buying a great DVD player and renting movies is cheaper than cable in the long run. If you rent rooms in your home like I do, keep the cable — it’s a perk for your tenants that are worth paying for.
  • Take your kids to the bookstore and hang out.
  • Find free community shows, like Shakespeare in the park or fireworks.
  • Take the kids on the subway trip — as far as you can and go explore. In New York, take the train to Coney Island.
  • In the summer, there is always a local food festival or street fair.
  • Get your kids involved in a community group, like a theatre. They develop skills, make friends and have fun.

Clothing

  • For kids, don’t go over the top with the brand names, especially since the kids will grow out of them quickly.
  • For adults and older teens, don’t buy really trendy clothes that will only last one season. Buy classical fashionable clothing that will last, and get trendy with accessories.
  • Buy shirts and ties or blouses and just one suit — accessorizing is cheaper.
  • Buy a few pieces of quality clothing as opposed to lots of cheap clothing. They will last a lot longer.
  • This goes without saying, but buy clothing in the off-season and on sale. You will save a tone of money.

Transportation

  • A gas saving tip I just learned: put your car in cruise control whenever you can. It has cut my gas bill in HALF.
  • If you live in a metropolitan area, try walking around the city as opposed to taking a bus or a train. In New York, you can even get there faster sometimes! :-)
  • Maintain your car — tire pressure, oil changes, everything. Preventative maintenance is way cheaper than repairs.
  • Never use cheap gas – use quality gas and the correct octane for your car. It may seem more expensive, but it’s cheaper in car repairs in the long run.
  • Don’t be afraid to walk, even in the winter. It’s great exercise and it saves a ton of money. Bring a backpack with you for grocery shopping if you need only a couple of things.

The Change Jar

I have a change jar. Every time I pay for something, I always use bills and get the change. I put the change in the jar. You wouldn’t believe how much money you can save! This money could be entertainment money, allowance for the kids, put it in a savings account or saved for emergencies. This change jar has saved my butt many times over the years, and is a great way to have “found” money at the end of the month.

The Balanced Direct Sales Mom

Posted by Annette Yen - on July 14, 2010 in Sustainable Business with No Comments

If you’re already in direct sales, you know that it’s not always easy to keep the priorities straight. Particularly when your business is just starting, but also when you get things going at a good clip in your business, direct sales can take on a life of its own and quickly cross the boundaries of happy home life. Here are 10 quick tips for helping to keep the Mom part of your life at the forefront while still running a successful Direct Sales business.

1. Plan – Sit down with your calendar and write out everything non-direct sales business related first. Decide which of those things are non-negotiable no matter how many people want to do parties on that day. And then keep them non-negotiable! Write in kids events, date nights with hubby, vacations, birthdays and birthday parties and plain old “just because” family time.

2. Power Hour – One of my favorite speakers in the direct sales field is Belinda Ellsworth. Her power hour is a tremendous way to manage your business life. It’s simple too! Here’s the quick rundown: Take 4 manila folders. Mark 1 as recruiting, 1 as booking, 1 as customer service and 1 as downline management. Decide on an hour in your day when you are going to work the phones for your business. Take your folders, set a timer and work each folder for 15 minutes only. When the 15 minutes is up, move to the next folder. As you interact with customers, recruits and downline put the information in these folders until the next time you sit down for your power hour. You will be amazed at how much work you can really accomplish when you are focused for that hour of time.

3. Office door – Use it! After you are done with your power hour or email time or whatever, walk out of the room and CLOSE the door! Or if you’re working with the laptop (see below) turn it off and close the laptop.

4. Get a laptop. A laptop with wireless Internet is a great tool for moms. You can get them pretty inexpensively now too. While the kids are doing their homework, pop open the laptop, sit WITH them and do your emails then. When they’re done with the homework, close the laptop and be done with your work as well.

5. Freedom Friday – Decide on one day in each week where you will be “off”. This can be Friday or any day, but decide on it and then actually do it. Commit to it with your kids, put it on your calendar and enjoy it. You’ll love it and the emails can wait! Once your customers and downline understand that this is your day off, they will respect it.

6. Use the “open date card “concept. Determine which days of the weeks you’ll be doing parties and write those down on a separate booking calendar or individual party date cards. When you are at your parties and getting future bookings only book parties on the dates that you set in advance on that calendar or on the cards. If someone needs a different date than you have available, find her another consultant (preferable in your downline!) to take the party.

7. Automate – Use the tools of the Internet to automate as much of your business as you can. Use an auto-responder for your recruit email packets and your downline training. Have a voicemail message available with a 10-minute presentation on your business that potential recruits can call before they call you with questions. Do conference calls with your downline so that you can address issues with the whole group rather than one on one with each of them, etc.

8. Involve your kids – Make your direct sales business a family affair. Employ your children to help with putting labels on catalogs, filing your paperwork, packing up your supplies for your parties, making the bank deposits, etc. As they get older their work responsibilities can increase too. You can even pay them tax-free and write it off as a legitimate business expense. Talk to your accountant about this great home business benefit.

9. Hire a maid. If your business is really on a roll and you need to spend more time on business, don’t take that time away from your family, take it away from other parts of your life, like the housecleaning instead. Hire a maid to do the big housecleaning jobs and use the time you’d normally be doing that to hang with the kids. It’ll be worth every penny.

10. Have fun – remember that your kids are only young once. They need you to be mommy FIRST and businesswoman second, even if your family does need the extra money your Direct Sales business brings in. Work smarter, not harder and enjoy your kids while you can.

Are you feeling tired and unappreciated? Have you loss sight of what a full nights sleep really is? Do you have a long To Do List that seems to grow longer as your baby grows older? Have you accepted the fact that your baby decides what you are going to wearnot you? Do you look in the mirror and see someone else? Have you constantly uttered the statement There has to be an easier way? If you can answer yes to most, if not all, of these questions then you are in the company of many other mommies who are going through the same thing. You are an official full-time mom.

Generally, people who work full time are only on the clock for 8 to 10 hours a day, 5 days a week, 50 weeks out of the year or less. Full-time employees are also graced with periodic vacation days, company benefits, and corporate gifts.

Mothers, on the other hand, are on the clock for 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 52 weeks out of the year. For most moms, full-time job is an understatement. From waking up every 2 hours throughout the night with the newborn to driving Junior to soccer practicebeing a mother is full-time, but it doesnt come with vacation days or company benefits. However, it does come with corporate gifts which we will discuss later.

Parenting is no easy task every mother at some point will get the baby blues. If motherhood has you crying the blues here are some helpful suggestions:

If someone offers to help with some of your choresgladly accept their offer.
Try to take a 15-30 minute power-nap while the baby is sleeping.
Accept the fact that some chores wont get done until tomorrow.
Eat healthy and drink plenty of water.
Dont try to be a super-mom, just be the best mom that you can be.
Interact with other mothers.
Take someone to the grocery store with you to help with the bags.
Stagger your chores. Dont try to do every chore in one day.
Cook enough for leftovers.

Being a mom has its challenges, but it reaps many benefits. Every gift or card that your child gives you is special. From the beautiful artwork on the refrigerator to the warm hugs and gentle kisses, being a mother is so rewarding. Think of each gift as your own corporate award. After all, being a mother is a full-time job, you just happen to be working for your children.

HOME BASED ANSWERING SERVICE Business Part 1

Posted by jamie on July 13, 2010 in Sustainable Business with No Comments

HOME BASED ANSWERING SERVICE Business Part 1
Business needs for an answering service can vary considerably. A company may need a phone to be answered
all day, part of the day, after hours only, or 24 hours a day. You can enter this profession at any level you
choose. The amount of equipment youll need to get going will also fluctuate depending on how much time
you want to devote to your homebased answering business.
Most often, businesses need their phones covered during an “extended” work day, say 8:00 A.M. 8:00 P.M.,
with an answering machine taking over the other, less likely, 12 hour call period. Twelve hours can be a long
day if youre going it alone, so you may wish to solicit businesses that generally are looking for the phones to
be answered from 9 AM to 5 or 6 PM. This makes it more likely for you to do the job yourself and work it
easily into your familys schedule, too.
Once you identify your work hours, you can begin the task of soliciting businesses to contract with you.
Before embarking on this important effort, you should establish a goal of how many companies you want to
represent. You can certainly take on more than one company if all youre doing is answering the phone.
How many businesses you take on will dictate how you set up your service. The easiest and most inexpensive
way to begin is to have a separate phone line and phone for each business you contract with. You would then
mark each individual phone with the company name as an identifier for you when the phones begin to ring.
This is the best route if youre going to work with ten or fewer businesses. If you intend to take on more than
ten firms, then it would be more cost and space effective to lease a switchboard from your local telephone
company. A switchboard can accommodate a substantial amount of business activity for you.
Installing separate phone lines should run less than $100 each (possibly higher in some parts of the country).
You will also pay basic monthly charges for each phone. This should average about $2025 per month (again,
possibly higher in some parts of the country). If you are buying actual telephones, these can be acquired
inexpensively at local stores.
Before buying all these phones and contracting with businesses, check with the phone company to see how
many extra lines you can obtain. There may be a limit in your residential neighborhood. How many clients
you can take on will depend on the number of lines you can install You might consider opening up an office
in a nearby commercial area, where the number of lines you need can be accommodated. However, this is
beyond the scope of your homebased answering service.
The amount and type of equipment you obtain will be dictated by your ambition and your budget. It can be as
simple as individual phone lines or as complex as computer screens that flash messages or record instructions
for you to convey.

How Exercise Can Help You Sleep Better…

Posted by George Lesco on July 13, 2010 in Exercise & Fitness with No Comments

The amount of physical activity that you expend during the day is a key ingredient to helping you sleep restfully at night.

The more active your body is during the day, the more likely you are able to relax fully at night and fall asleep easily.

With regular exercise your sleep quality is improved and the transition between the cycles and phases of sleep becomes smoother and more regular.

Keeping up your physical activity during the day may also be help you deal with the stress and worry in your life.

Studies indicate that there is a direct correlation between how much we exercise and how we feel both emotionally and physically by changes in our brain chemistry that occur from regular exercise.

Try to increase your physical daily activity during the day. The goal here is to give your body enough stimulation during the day so that you are not restless at night.

Our bodies require a certain amount of physical activity in order to function in a healthy manner.

It is important to note that you should not be exercising three to four hours before bed.

The ideal time for you to exercise is in the late afternoon or early evening. You want to expend your physical energy long before it is time for your body to rest and ready itself for sleep.

Attempt to exercise at least three to four times a week for a continuous period of 20 to 30 minutes. This can include something as simple as walking or something as strenuous as running.

The goal is to increase your heart rate and strengthen your lung capacity. Adding a regular exercise activity to your daily schedule will improve your overall health and benefit you emotionally. This is can help promote a natural remedy for your sleeplessness.

Besides walking and running there are many physical activities that you can add to your life to increase your activity level. Aerobic exercises seem to work best to battle sleeplessness.

Your goal is to increase the amount of oxygen that reaches your blood. There are many types of aerobic activities to choose from. These include running, biking, using a treadmill, jumping rope, and dancing.

Some non-aerobic activities may be beneficial to you as you attempt to solve your insomnia problem. The following activities are relaxing and have other healing properties:

- Yoga has a stimulatory effect on your nervous system, particularly the brain. Yoga uses breathing techniques and yoga postures to increase blood circulation to the brain centre, promoting regular and restful sleeping patterns. Regular practice of yoga will relax you as well as relieve stress and tension.

- Tai Chi is a form of breathing and movement that was developed by ancient Chinese monks. The movements involved in Tai Chi are precise and slow, which is ideal if you have joint pain or are unable to participate in high impact aerobic exercises. Studies have shown that Tai Chi may help people with insomnia by promoting relaxation.

If you find that you have no time to exercise on a regular basis try sneaking extra moments of activity into your daily schedule. Take the stairs instead of the elevator whenever possible.

Try parking your car around the corner and walking that extra block to your appointment. There are many small ways that you can incorporate some added activity into your life. Your goal is to have a healthy, well balanced life…
